Hi,
One of my friends is moving to Toronto. He is looking for IT (project manager/team lead positions). He is born and raised in Canada with a BS and MS in Computer Science from the US and 7 years of IT experience in the US and Canada. Could someone give me a rough idea of what approximate salaries (perhaps a range) would be for such positions in Toronto?

NOTE: I am NOT asking people to post their individual salaries necessarily.

If he is born and raised in Canada plus 7 years IT experience in US and Canada, then He should know better than anyone else here.

well he has never lived or worked in Toronto and he does not know anyone who does. of course there are websites to get approximate ranges.. but it would be good if somebody who actually works in Toronto can provide some insight.

This is again an approximation...
first if company is normal company not pay master. .then for this profile he should get 80K to 90K CAD in Toronto.

This will be minimum he should expect.. [This is quite a high sal though.. but his profile fits for this]

this is my view ;)

As an IT Recruiter, I can give a very broad range - depends on what skills he is Proj Manager in (eg an ERP/ SAP Project Manager will be much higher than a general IT Project Manager). Also depends on companies - some companies have low payscales and some have much better payscales - there is no science or logic to it!

I would suggest a range of $75 to $90k. One suggestion: if he is PMP Certified, he can usually get a little more than someone who is not PMP-Certified Project Manager.

Also, if his 7 years of experience have been with well known/ Fortune 500 companies (rather than unknown companies) then he will probably get on the higher side.

Hope this helps!
