I am a Mechanical Engineer with MBA in Marketing. My experience has been in marketing and sales. Can I complete a course or some study if I want to pursue this as a career?

Anything is possible when you have desire and energy to do it.
My master's degree is in public policy and I work as a network support analyst at this time and I will be starting as a business analyst in January with a Desi firm. Everybody in this forum says it is like hell working with Desi firm in H1B, but I do not have much choice other than I have some interviews scheduled with Deloitte, McKinsey & Company, and Bain & Company through my universities career center. All of those possible job interviews are in IT areas (Consulting).
I think business analyst and systems analyst are similar professions. Desi firms train you for a month or so and they will find you job and send you anywhere in the US. They are willing to train me, I am sure they will be more than happy to do that for you as you are an engineer and you have an MBA. Only problem is looks like you live in Toronto area and I do not know if there are Desi firms in that area. If you can come to the US for work, go to sulekha.com and you will see 1000s of Desi firms looking for people. They will pay you US$50,000+ easily.

A Computer Systems Analyst is a person who translates business / functional knowledge into logical / technical design which is pursued by developers in building the Applications.
It starts with an understanding of the business rules and progresses with their translation into a database / technical design ending with the Data Model and entity inter relationships .
To be a successful Systems Analyst one should have good Analysis skills and knowledge of how computer systems work ........... experience plays a vital role.
