Hi fellow desi's,
Just need some advice on the average GMAT score required for gaining admission in some of the main university MBA programs in Canada i.e Rotman,Schulich & Queens.
Can a 570 score get you admission in one of these universities....
Cheers,
Hi Nivi,
GMAT alone doesn't matter, it depends on a lot of things like essays, work experience, reco letters and undergrad grades.
With a GMAT of 570, you would need atleast 3-4 years of full time work experience, great recommendation letters, immaculate essays and a decent undergrad GPA say 3.0 (indian standards)
Then you might have a shot.
A lot also depends on what your goals are from the program. So for example if you wanna do a PhD after MBA, then your program would be more research oriented, in that case you would have to look at what kind of research is going on in each school, does it match your goals or not, and finally you will have to design your essays accordingly.
It's a lot of work.
Good luck.

Thank you Manish,
Yeah I guess I can just wait for the reply from the universities, (tried my best to send in good essays)
What do you think of the executive or the the accelerated MBA option they don't want a very high score on the GMAT, they value experience and some of the universities have excepted mine as worthy.
Cheers..
I applied to IVEY with a GMAT score of 620 and got denial sying " I am more suitable for EMBA" Be careful cook your resume carefully..do not be honest..
Oh no my friend,
you are sending the wrong message, don't try to do that, because if you get caught you will have hell to pay.
Manish.

If I were you I would not be dishonest, there are very good ways to present the same thing in an appropriate way.
In long term, dishonesty would make me an inferior person, which I do not want to do, even for money.
hii Nivi,
i agree with manish that GMAT alone will not get u accepted in a top B school like Rotman/ Queen's/Ivey/Schulich.
I have been accepted for Queen's EMBA and joining in august this year. The GMAT score, Solid Reco letters (2) from senior MNC professionals esp with Top 100 B s chool background, solid work exp say 10+ years , your academic achievements( if ur a engineer with top Grades),and esssay/s and your interaction with the Directors/ faculty of that B school while u attend information sessions . In fact that interaction is a informal interview. If u impress faculty & the alumni who also are present, u may get an invite to apply. cu hear from u
