Hello,
I bought a house this month and when I asked to put the title as jointly husband /wife my lawyer denied , he said the mortgage is approved on my name only not on my wife( my wife dint work and have no income).
Then I asked about making a will lawyer said that if husband died the house will not be transferred to wifes name even we made a will and the mortgage wiil not freed on the house. Is it so?
please advise.
Thanks,
Best Regards,
Jr. Desi
This is a legal question and in order to help you I had a word with a real estate lawyer.
As per this lawyer, the financial institution won't allow your wife to be on the title because her name does not appear on the mortgage documents. So your lawyer is right.
As far as making a will is concerned, no one can stop you from doing this. So better get a second opinion.
There is one more way to do this, which is fairly simple, but I can only give you this advise if you call me.
Good luck,
