Position Title: MAINTENANCE PLANNER
Purpose of Position
Reporting to the Manager - Facilities & Maintenance the individual will have the responsibility for leading and implementing the Preventative Maintenance system mainly MP2 in accordance with established policies, procedures and overall company objectives.
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the daily planning and scheduling of work orders and predictive/preventative work orders to perform repairs and maintenance of plant machinery and equipment, company buildings and grounds. The Maintenance Planner plays a key role in assisting the Supervisors - Maintenance along with the Team Leaders and or Lead Hands to perform and plan all work and projects.
This position also requires an individual who has extensive SAP experience and a maintenance purchasing background. PMAC certification is an asset.
Major Responsibilities
Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Planner, Team Leaders and or Lead Hands to lead the Team identify, coordinate and integrate preventative and predictive maintenance requirements with routine and other maintenance efforts mainly MP2.
Assist the Maintenance Team & Planner to ensure that equipment/operating records are kept up to date in order to control and analyze activities of the various plant units/equipment.
To implement the maintenance spare parts stock room and tool crib. Evaluates, on a continuous basis, inventory of operating supplies and repair parts. Add, delete or change item stock items as required to maintain minimum levels consistent with plant needs. Added duties to assist in determining repair parts and inventory levels necessary to support equipment for which they are responsible.
Assist with planning, organizing, coordination the plant services group activities to support identified plant needs during the annual plant shutdown period. Perform detail planning for annual plant shutdowns and major equipment overhauls to ensure efficient use of manpower and equipment.
Assist the Engineering Department with development of new projects inclusive of cost estimates. Coordinate plant services group effort and support with engineering requirements.
Maintain a current listing of miscellaneous items, used repair parts and aged equipment. Ensure that storage areas for these items are organized and maintained in an orderly and systematic manner.
Major Responsibilities
Locate, when necessary, selected materials and repair parts. Prepare requisitions for them through SAP. Identify and verify the need for contractor and vendor services, to include rental equipment. Obtain services and/or equipment.
Plans and revises maintenance schedules or procedures to provide the production departments with proper maintenance at lowest cost, with minimum downtime, consistent with good maintenance practices.
Education & Experience Requirements
Minimum of seven (7) years experience in manufacturing operations
5-7yrs experience with Preventative maintenance system mainly MP2 and well versed in SAP purchasing.
Proven working knowledge of preventative maintenance, condition based monitoring and continuous improvement programs
Relevant trades C of Q, University degree and or a PMAC purchasing certificate is an asset.
