Hi Rajog
Thanks for your information. I will explore that avenue.
It took me approximately 6 months to complete the course(both volumes)
But, it depends on your pace of study.I know two people who have cleared both the exams in 3 months.
Diya75,
If u are having finished CSC then also trying Mutual Fund Companies.
I am hearing that CI, Fidelity, AIM, AIC, AGF, Mackenzie, Clarington, also many other companies hiring right now for RSP season. Many peoples recently arriving from India, not even 3 months, getting job as CSR in these companies. Maybe u can try.
Also submitting resumes to staffing agencies like Accountemps, Today's Staffing, Kelly services, Randstad. I am hearing they are helping many plenty peoples for entry level jobs in mutual fund companies and banks.

Hi Diya:
Just have positive mind frame, you'll get it what you want in Toronto, need to be patient.
Don't listen to negative minds like love4looned which is quite obvious from his suggestive words.

I suggest u to learn truck driving as well as that u will have to divert soone or later once u r here. Why? you can make more money thee than in bank teller job. That is also hard fact as bank manger are earning less than a successful illiterate Punjabi truck driver.

Diya, I tell you why I have this opinion:
My wife tried for 3 months for jobs in Canada, she got lots of offer for odd job but she didn't bother to take it since she didn't have so much financial crisis. She just work hard, took all the free training for New Comers from HRDC and now landed up working with a premier bank in Toronto in their head office in Central Union Station as Plan Analyst. And she never worked in Bank, she has only experience with Office Admin job. Yes, one thing she did right, she always steer clear of personality like love4looned.
Diya just believe in yourself.

Hi New Guy
Thank you very much for your encouragement. I did appreciate that.
After getting feedback from some negative minded people I did think negatively at one point of time. But now i donot. My husband is also very positive minded person and tries to keep up my courage and hope.
I am sure with so much of encouragement aroundsomething good will defintely work out for me. Your wife did take a very intelligent decision not to go for odd jobs.Positive things happened with her becoz she used to think positively. Thanks once again.
Dear CDs,
Hope you all doing fine. I am coming to Canada in March 2006 for permanent settlement. I am 36 years old and have professional qualification from Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)-UK. I came to Canada last November and found extremely difficult to get a relevant job here. Now since I am coming permanently with my spouse and 3 kids. I must find a way to establish a career. Someone has suggested me to take Canadian Securities Course (CSC) to start a career in investment management. They say that this would at least help you avoid odd/labor jobs and may give you a good earning career in the long term.
Now I am planning to take the SCS course online and prepare for the exam while I am here in Karachi Pakistan till March, But I am not sure if I will find a firm for training etc.
I would be highly obliged if you guys could advise.
Regards
nyk
IMHO we don't need any specific training for CSC....it's too easy to do on your own...just go thru the study material....understand the logic....cultivate the habit of selecting the BEST answer out of all possible correct answers.....and you can clear CSC in 2-3 months....I did that...and I strongly believe that anybody who is good in math....and has general knowledge of investments and stock mkt can clear CSC easily
No need for any training....don't spend your money like that....unless you are not confident to complete CSC on your own....
