Hi
The website address for Canadian Securities course is wwww.csi.ca
You will get all the info on the website. After completing the course you can expect to get a job as an Investment Advisor. You basically convince the customers to invest in your bank. Doing a course in India would not help u .Becoz people here look for canadian courses and canadian experience.
The course costs approximately $800
You can study the course from home.It is a self study course material...you can access and practice the quizzes online .
You have to complete the course within one year of your enrollment
I hope this info helps you.
I will never give you advice to stay back in India but I would defintely like to tell you one thing that it is almost impossible to get a job in a Canadian Bank unless you have stayed in Canada for atleast 2 years This is for security reason. This has happened with my friend recently. She was refused outright(It has been just 4 months since she arrived in Canada)
Reagrding your wife she will have to do some BEd courses here in Canada then she will be sent on trainig. It is again very difficult if she doesnot have any teaching experience. My friend she is from Inida too .She has got a lot of teaching experience in India as well as her BEd degrre (from India) She had to do a six month BEd course from york university(website:yorku.ca).Now she is on a paid training job.
Hope things go well with you and your wife
But i would like to suggest you not to resign from your present job and come to Canada
Good Luck

I appreciate the info shared by diya75, reg the security issue. However I know two of my colleagues who have just arrived here like 7-8 months back. They were working with HDFC Bank in India and are working with bank as Personal Bankers right away. So I don't know what the criteria is...it took me more than 2 yrs to get in to baking ind...but nowadays I am seeing people getting an entry in banking sector much faster. May be I know of only few lucky instances.

May be this will help.

I don't know about any other website.I just studied whatever course material they gave me.90% of the questions are from the text book material .You just have to read the books throughly becoz it is a mulitple choice questions exam.

In most banks in Toronto and Mississauga, many Indians are working in counters, specially in TD bank, lot of Indians are there. I don't think, people having banking experience in back home country and/or some local course certificates, will have any problem to get a job in bank if they are serious.

hi diya75,

have you completed both the volumes. What is the approx time you took for each volume?

I guess most all the banks do recruit CSR's. You will have to personally go to the branch and speak to the Branch Head. I know of couple of people who have been recruited through this process. All the best
