TORONTO: The South Asian community in Greater Toronto Area (GTA) has been increasing at a fast pace. Latest Census data shows that India surpassed China as the number one source country of immigrants settling in GTA and the trend is likely to continue in future. Statistically, about 77,800 newcomers from India, 17.4% of all newcomers, settled in the Toronto metropolitan area in 2006.
