  • Cheated by a fraud used car seller

    By manojmago113

We came to Canada living behind big executive jobs. After living here for few years we always talk about Canadian System and appreciate that we have a better system in Canada. Is it true?

Everything is not right here. It is not what it looks like. Let me share my experience to make my point.

I bought a used car from Hamilton. It was a lead from an advertisement on Kijiji. I should have used CanadianDesi classifieds, but I found that Car very good. I paid the money in Cash. Unfortunately the buy disappeared immediately after I paid him cash.

After 5 days when I went to ministry of transport to transfer the car ownership, I came to know that there is a lien from TD bank on the car. I tried to contact the seller but got no response. My efforts went in vain.

Finally I wrote a letter to the owner on the address as per papers. In response I got a phone call from another person, stating that he is the owner of this car and he never sold it to me and he has already scrapped the car. I however had signed papers. Finally I figured out that the person who sold the car me was not the owner.

Upon further injury I found, by internet research, that this a regular business of the particular individual. I went to cops to complain, and instead of taking my complain and any action against the person, they advised me to sue the person. I was astonished that this is allowed in such an advance country and police is not ready to take any action.

For any immigrant legal option is very expensive. Any advice?

Thanks very much for reading and make sure you dont get fooled like this.
