    Hi All,
I love reading all the articles in CD about new Canadians and their experiences, so I am adding mine too even though I am not exactly a new CD.
I am a farmer with and agricultural engineering degree which was before the computer age (1984). I landed here in 2004 and knew I had to upgrade my education. Unfortunately 2 months after landing my wife was hit by a car (no OHIP at that time) and I had to get a job. So I went to a agency and got a job working in a factory for 8.50$. The truth is the factory job taught more than all of my 15 years of work related to agriculture. Then I applied at the University of Guelph and got admission into their masters program in rural studies. I completed my master in Jan 2006. It was one of the best experiences in my life and I got more than my money's worth (OSAP loan).
ON completion I got an intership with an organisation called IDRC (International Development Research Center) and I am off to India/Singapore for a year to do my research.
Every country in the world has it plus and minus, it is for us to look for the good things and always keep an positive outlook. Canada is a beautiful country and so is India both in their unique ways. It is for us as human beings to look at the good things God has created instead of harping on the bad which is always created by man.
    Wishing youall the best.
    Sridharan
